Update:
The 2 new ladies have settled in pretty well. Wilma (crested) still gets chased away a bit by Lil Miss(Saxony) but it’s waaaay better than it was. Stella(Suspected apple yard mix or Rouen mix) has fallen right into line with the flock. I think she just sticks up for herself more than Wilma does.
I’m still on egg watch. Majority of the flock is 21 weeks. I’m staying hopeful but understand if I don’t get eggs until the solstice. It’s the way it goes.
Here’s some photos. If you guys want to guess the breeds in the mixes feel free! I suspect but obviously do not know for sure what they are.
The mixes are:
Wilma: Black Crested. I suspect Cayuga (she has some beetle green sheen around her crest)& Rouen( she has an eye stripe)
Stella: Orange leg/beak with blue wing tips. I suspect appleyard Mix (due to the orange legs/beak) possible Rouen mix (due to the color pattern) either way I think she’s beautiful!
Gus: my black/white drake with a green head but blue wing tips. Originally I thought Ancona/Rouen but now I kinda suspect Ancona Cayuga?? We will see what he throws for babies in the spring.
