Hello Everyone,

I got my 1st Serama today. Never thought that I would like those tiny things but the moment I saw them...I was amazed! Today is Sungod Festival @ UCSD. Since I got him today...(1 month old), I will name him...Sungod. Lol. Do you think thats too much or is that ok? If so, I would like to keep that name so I can remember when I got him exactly

Anywhere else have 100% imported lines here? Would love to chit-chat with you to get on some ideas on how to raise them well and all. I only have the 1 month old male right now and hope to get 3-4 more later on from a friend who's hatching them out.

You could name him Apollo (Greek), Helius (Greek), Aten (Egyptian) or Ra (Egyptian)... all are names given to Sun Gods

I can't wait until I can get some Seramas!!!!

Good morning!

I am as much excited as everywhere here and can't WAIT to take pictures of...lets see...I will name him Garuda! Check out why I will name him that

*Hint*: Garuda = Bird God! Haha

I like the sound of that too. Hehe.

Unfortunately, I have been SUPER busy here and MIGHT be able to take a few snaps of him later on when I get home or might now. I am leaving home in about 30 mins. and be out doing errands until sundown pretty much. Tomorrow = work all day, Mon. = School all day + Study 4 Finals, Tues. type 2 of my reports all day, Wed. finals...Thursday type my OTHER report. Friday = school all day 8AM-7:00PM

So if I can't get the pics today, I will have to wait until next Sat. to get some decent pictures at least.

Haha.

Hehe. I know...but I think that fits him most since he is a "bird" more or less right? Haha.
Well, Seramas sometimes have a big head and the way their chest stands out...it will for sure look like that good. Hehe

PS: Guitartists...I really like your website, again, the pictures you take are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I hope I can get a good camera and take snaps of my pets like you so they can stand out. I remember you once told me to take a pixs of them with not such a busy background so the "topic" can stand out yeah?

Congrats on your new bird Tommy. He will make a nice addition to your already impressive group. There has been lots of discussion on Seramas in the past and much of the controversy has simmered down. There was a time when you could not mention the name without a huge brewhaha.

I am glad you were able to get a quality bird. I bet you will have lots of fun with them.

Hmmm, while that sounds like something I would say, lol, I honestly don't remember saying it...But it's been like 800 posts already...LOL I can't possibly remember all of them. That is good advice though, less stuff to destract the eye from what you want the main focus to be. Another thing you can do is use a photo editing program to remove the color from the background, allowing your subject to stand out.

Thank you for the praise

Most of my older stuff on there was taken with my 35mm Canon Rebel, which I REALLY need to get out and ready again now that summer is here.

The newer stuff is done mostly with my Kodak 12mp Easyshare. It's not as great as my 35mm, but it's convenient and there's no film or developing to worry about

Each has their pros and cons. All you need to do is get a camera and start snapping shots! Learn what works for you. Some tips are of course... Good lighting is paramount!!! Even the worst pic will look better in the best lighting
wink.png
I like outdoor pics on slightly overcast days..... or right before dusk when it's not glaring. Also, get down on their level... instead of shooting from above... get eye level, even if this means getting dirty

Dress accordingly

I can't wait to get my chickens out to their permanent home so I can get them out and get some real good pics. Right now I am limited to what I can do inside... and it just erks me

Thanks! I am so happy to get him because yeah, he is rare and I will be sure he will be a great add to what I already have. He's so cute! Haha
(By The Way...I just PM you in regards to something not related here

Guitartist:

Thanks for all the tips. Unfortunately, I don't have all the money to invest in those "tech'e" cameras. Lol. I have a Canon. I will let you know what the model # is once I am home.

Yeah, anyhow...keep me updated on things. Would love to shoot a few great pictures to add to my site : )
