I bought these birds from a guy who said they were true Ameraucanas, not easter eggers. I thought it was weird that they don't have muffs or a beard. He showed me the parents and they had the same color pattern as these, but were bearded and muffed. Anyway, I'm actually hoping one's a roo so I can breed him with my EE's. Here's a look:
This one is my hopeful roo. You can see it has some red on the wing feathers and the black on its tailfeathers has quite a bit of gloss to it, which I thought wasn't common for pullets at this age, but then again, I am still a new egg
This is the one I'm pretty sure is a pullet, but its tailfeathers are twice as long as the others and they are also starting to have a glossy look. It is also a little bigger than the other, but they hatched out of the same clutch.
A headshot of the hopeful roo.
A closer look at the reddish feathers on the hopeful roo.
And this last one's just showing the tailfeathers on the one I think's a pullet. What do ya'll think I have?
