I have a Rhode Island Red and a Bard Rock. I have had them since they
were chicks they are now 1 yr old and for the past couple of days they have been fighting. What should I do??

Do you have hens? You need a minimum of 5 to keep the peace with two roos. Usually they work it out in a short period of time. If there is a way to seperate them so that the least dominate has his own hen or two for a few days usually they will split up and guard their own "flock". That has been my experience. I have noticed that people on here have some wierd and wacky rooster situations but I don't think it is the norm.

They are fighting for dominance most likely.. Hens maybe but i've had roosters do fine with 2-3 hens.. So go figure.

You can either sell them, seperate them, or you can let them fight it out.. I recommend the first two but i guess if your into the whole "let nature take its course" then you can go with the third one. It's how it'd be settled without human contact.

ETA: The best options are to sell or seperate though, because leaving them together does not mean they will not fight again.. Anytime something happens "they spot the other rooster breeding a hen, feed, they just get that "frisky feeling" ", they are males.. And we get pretty jealous over stuff like that. Or at least a lot do.
