Are Rhode Island Red roosters usually aggressive? Mine will bite, given the chance. We raised them from day old chicks, they're 6 months old now. They don't usually try to hurt us, but I'm concerned that if I let them free range, they might chase any people they don't know.

Any breed male chicken can be aggressive.
They can be worse if there are more than one in a flock.
Who else will be exposed if the flock free ranges?

they are in my experience the most aggressive breed.

From what I've seen myself and read on this forum, some Rhode Island Red, Silkie, Orpington, D'uccle, Rocks, and every other breed and mixed breed cockerels and roosters can be mean nasty human aggressive. I don't know your situation or why they may come into contact with other people, but my concern would be much more that they might trespass on other people's property and cause damage or meet predators than them chasing other people.

My experience was with RIR hens, and they were pretty aggressive compared to any other chicken breed I've had.
