It is so hard to believe that that cute little chick is the meanest!

ha ha. Mine are 6 weeks old now and I have seen my girls do that to each other too. Mostly they just get in each others faces and have stare downs. I think it is my girls who are setting up pecking order. My one that I think is a roo is pretty mellow. Do they have a lot of room to roam? Maybe the one should be seperated if he is too agressive? or maybe he is lacking something in his diet. Minerals?

Just some guesses. It is probably normal.
Hope it works out for you! You have some really cute little chicks!

Well, your lil meanie does look like a baby roo to me, but all chicks do it. It's part of setting up the pecking order.

Im sure glad you asked that I was wondering why they did that karate type jump at each other but my little meanie is a Ameraucana
and shes suppose to be a girl. Glad to hear it is normal Stormy

I think its pretty cute when they kick each other. Mine kick others right on the back. My Seramas like to do it. The little roo is the most kicky one. I tend to try and pet him as much as I can so he will grow up a little more people friendly. His latest little stunt is not letting any of "his" pullets near me when I feed them. I would try to befriend him before he gets too big.

I had a Japanese female that would kick me when ever I went to feed her. The roo was docile.

Cochins can also be fierce kickers when they want to be.

thats a wyandotte (i think silver laced...although my silver penciled looked just like that at that age...maybe even partrige?...definite wyandotte tho) and the others that look like him are as well...also it looks like the rest are Rhode Island Reds except for that one on the top left...not sure what that one is.
this is what my silver penciled wyandottes and rhode island reds looked like at a couple days old...ill have to check and see if i have pics from when they were the same age as yours....but they looked identical
