Hi, My Bs Male is about 3 or 4 Years old, He was mounting one of my BS Females today, I am unsure which one. They are 1 Year old and the other is about 1.5 Years old. Does this means they may be ready to lay eggs, or does he not care and just wants to do his thing? Thanks

in about a couple of weeks, you will get some eggs. She mates a few times before start laying But, she may not incubate them if she is only 2 yrs old.

I second what Peddiemunnangi stated about getting eggs.

I got several hens actively breeding ,laying and even sitting and they are all under 2 years of age.. i been hunting eggs like it is easter time, it has been a real adventure for sure.

It is funny that the breeder i got my babies from only seemed to get eggs july threw sept and i have been getting eggs from their offspring sence april, i wonder how much longer they will lay.

Oh, more egg's, I have a bunch of Pigeons hatching now, and I have a bunch of Guinea and Chicken eggs in the incubator, Plus I have 7 Baby Royal Palms that the Hen hatched out running around.

I have always loved pigeons, someone flys them around here, they circle my place often

First Egg ever,
I think these are the parents, 3 to 4 Ever old Seipel BS Male
And 1.5 Year old Spalding BS Hen.

Could be this 1 Year old IBBS Hen Carrying the W/E and Pied Gene.

And Here are the egg's

The two chick feeders hold Oyster shells and the other holds grit, I have them in all of my Coops free choice. I think when she was making her nest she tossed shavings around, and made a mess.

So it is my Spalding Female, I saw her on teh nest yesterday, I now have two eggs and they are decent size eggs, MY BS Male is also doing the deed often with her now.
