It's not impossible, a little food coloring, some vinegar............It's impossible...
Yeah die the eggs like people do during easter !It's not impossible, a little food coloring, some vinegar............
kidding
And i talked to my feed store i bought my amercuana pullets from and they said that they are not EE and was not marked up at the hatchery as ee that their purebred Americuana . That they are true purbred amercuanas they have a real good rep!
Ideal is currently selling "Ameraucanas" which, by their own description alone, are Easter Eggers. http://www.idealpoultry.com/item.html?i=267
"AMERAUCANAS
Ameraucanas, known as the "Easter Egg Breed", are a multicolored breed. They have beards, muffs and a normal tail with a tail head. They are often incorrectly called Araucanas, which have ear tuffs, are rumpless, and do not have a tail head which gives them a bunny tail appearance. Most of the chicks sold as Araucanas are really Ameraucanas, which are excellent, efficient producers of large eggs of many colors and shades including blue and green.
Standard weights at maturity are males-5 lbs. and hens-4 lbs.
Our poultry is purebred and represent the breed and variety; however, we do not guarantee or represent that they are show quality."
I just bought some myself and I'm excited to get my beautiful girls because I love them more than true Ameraucanas. I like their variety and uniqueness.
So, it's very possible the salesperson was not lying so much as they were lied to by the hatchery. Feed store employees aren't always so knowledgeable about chicks...they try their best but it's not their job to be chicken experts.
Yes, that was my point. Sorry if I wasn't clear! They're obviously not real Ameraucanas. And I totally thought it was strange that they pointed out that many people confuse Araucana with Ameraucana whilst themselves confusing EE's for Ameraucanas! I guess I just don't know if they are purposefully spreading misinformation or if they really don't know the difference....either way it's disconcerting.Which is an indicator that they aren't true Ameraucana. They are EE. They're trying to smooth the edges on things, make it sound nicer, but its still not the truth. Still nothing wrong with EEs, but I really don't like that they purposefully miss-label them to get an extra buck.
