New here and just saw this thread. Your coop is amazing! It's gorgeous! And that is so awesome how you made it out of pallets and materials you had around and such. I'm such a big fan of that. I love that you put window boxes with the flowers on the windows! Adorable! I think I need to go plant some flowers around my chicken coop now.

Thanks ChickenRisa! Been a while since i've been on. I need to post some pics of how my coop has weathered. Other than some oxidation to the tin roof, it looks great!

Hello, I love this coop design . My husband has salvaged several pallets . Now I am in search of a user friendly blue print . Can you post yours ? Or direct me where I can find it ?

Hi Mommafox, glad you liked my coop! I don't have blueprints, but purchased a plan from My Pet Chicken.com. I paid 15.00 for them and downloaded the plans straight to my computer. The plans have detailed instructions and pictures, and were more of a building style than exact blueprints. You can follow along in my thread, I posted lots of progress pictures. Exact dimensions and board lengths are determined by the builder.

HAPPY EASTER ALL! I thought I would post a follow up pic to show how my coop has held up. Short answer is GREAT! About the only change is that my "foundation" stones have settled just a bit. I probably shoulda dug a little deeper to place the stones. The Pallet Coop has held up well to several years of all the abuse mother nature (and chickens, lol) can dish out. I replanted the flower boxes today.

@auto5man...I am in the planning stages of coop building (the one my mom bought was misrepresented online and will not stand up to the test of time).

I absolutely loved your write up and documentation! I'd like to build a 4'x6' coop using as much cheap/free lumber as possible. I will be referencing your work often and may (with your permission) PM you with questions if they arise.

Where do you store your hay & food & tools? Was it not worth integrating those into the house as well?
