My 5 bratty girls

To celebrated Mother's Day I took the girls into the yard for some fresh air. I have them in an old dog crate so I put them on the ground and took the tray out of the bottom so they could forage in the grass. Then they got a treat of wild rice cooked with rye and wheat berries and craisins and also some fresh strawberry tops.

My chicks have been going outside for hours everyday this past week and they love it! I built them a 4'x2'x2' enclosed "play pen" since I don't have a coop or run yet. 4 out of the 6 have become a lot more friendlier and it's so funny watching them. We have lots of grass and weeds in our driveway so I just leave them on that because they love digging in the sandy parts on the rock. Today I made them a salad of celery leaves and shredded cheese, they don't like their veggies so all they ate was the cheese

I have no coop or run yet. Working on it. But the girls still have almost a month indoors anyhow.
