My chick, River, is dragging her leg after a cat attack. She is not eating or drinking and we are syringe feeding her and using an eye dropper to give her water. We have been putting Neosporin and Vetricyn on the tiny wound. (It’s not bad) I really need help QUICK. What should I do. I’m raising money to take her to the vet and doing all kinds of things.

With a cat attack, I'd be very worried about puncture wounds, which could form abscesses. If there is a puncture would, I'd flush it with hibiclens or saline and allow it to drain. If it's not a puncture wound, the ointment should be ok. Be sure to keep it moist. She's very fluffy, so you might want to carefully trim away feathers.

How long ago was she injured? She may be in shock. I'd place her a quiet, dark place inside (I use a small dog crate with fluffy towels) and give her electrolytes. Then it's a matter of watch and wait - one of my least favorite things to do.

She was attacked Saturday

Then infection might be setting in if the wound is pretty small.

I would definitely trim away any feathers to get a better look at it. See any swelling? Any pus (you may already know this, but chicken pus it hard - I've read it described as like hard cheese).

And chickens bruises are green. I remember seeing that at first and thinking it was infection.
