Thanks everyone for the replies! The pictures I posted were taken at the beginning of summer. Since then I have buried wire around the base of the coop just in case. Also we do lock them in the coop at nightime to protect from predators. I used chicken wire because it was free but I am on the lookout for something sturdier. So far this summer we haven't had any problems.

I'm going to add some snow boards around the run this winter and some sort of covering to keep it dry. All in all, it's been a blast building it. I think I'm going to be a lifelong chickener!
