So cute!! They have been cracking me up with thier squawks. But to answer your question, no unfortunately not necessarily. I saw someone on this forum that had a roo start to crow at 6 weeks and his brother that hatched with him didn't crow for the first time until 5 months old.So, quick question. If you have a clutch of Silkies and one starts crowing, will the rest in the batch that are Roos start as well? I have a 6 week old doing his absolute best to be a crowing big boy. He falls terribly short of the mark but gets 100% for effort.![]()
Well, damn! The suspense is killing me! I had thought the one that crowed was my only pullet...........and then he crowed! So cute!! They have been cracking me up with thier squawks. So fun! I hope your able to keep them both. My boys are still getting along really well. Really hoping it stays that way. If you can catch a video of them crowing I'd love to see!!Found this thread becos I wanted to know if 2 months + is too young for roosters to crow... But I guess it's not. My little Silkie rooster crowed today... It was so cute. His incubator hatch mate (a polish) started a couple of weeks ago and we were surprised to hear our Silkie crowing right after the little Polish. Both of them were singing their little rooster hearts out.
We're definitely keeping them. They are good friends at the moment. They go into a panic when we separate them so hopefully they will continue to be good friends. So fun! That is the cutest sound!!
