My 7 week old Silkie Crowed!

So, quick question. If you have a clutch of Silkies and one starts crowing, will the rest in the batch that are Roos start as well? I have a 6 week old doing his absolute best to be a crowing big boy. He falls terribly short of the mark but gets 100% for effort.

So cute!! They have been cracking me up with thier squawks. But to answer your question, no unfortunately not necessarily. I saw someone on this forum that had a roo start to crow at 6 weeks and his brother that hatched with him didn't crow for the first time until 5 months old.

Well, damn! The suspense is killing me! I had thought the one that crowed was my only pullet...........and then he crowed! :hit

Found this thread becos I wanted to know if 2 months + is too young for roosters to crow... But I guess it's not. My little Silkie rooster crowed today... It was so cute. His incubator hatch mate (a polish) started a couple of weeks ago and we were surprised to hear our Silkie crowing right after the little Polish. Both of them were singing their little rooster hearts out.

So fun! I hope your able to keep them both. My boys are still getting along really well. Really hoping it stays that way. If you can catch a video of them crowing I'd love to see!!

We're definitely keeping them. They are good friends at the moment. They go into a panic when we separate them so hopefully they will continue to be good friends.
