My Africans (A close call! 1/05)

I got busy with kids in sports. But I do need to update. Everyone is doing fine. Panini is broody and a bit of a rotten toot. She gets furious when I disturb her, but my boots take the brunt of her wrath. It's actually rather amusing to watch her savaging my rubber boots. I can't feel a thing. Her mate Chowder is mostly a good boy. Every now and then he feels the need to show off. He lowers his neck and gives a little charge, but he's so brave you only need to take a few steps his direction and he turns tail and runs the other way.

Oh yeah. You're so tough.

That's cool that she is broody, how long did she lay eggs before going broody? I can't imagine they've been laying for all that long? I have an american goose that is just barely 10 months old. She has laid 3 eggs so far. Unfortunately, the only other goose here is an 8 1/2 month old embden. While I believe the embden is a male, he's not so sure

so I don't think I'll be getting any fertile eggs from my american this year. But I'm hoping that she will go broody, so I can get her some fertile eggs to hatch
