Thanks! Everyone is still growing like crazy and enjoying their free range time. Today they "helped" DH building a new coop for the guineas. He used the stock trailer to bring down wood and supplies. Everytime he swung the trailer door open, it made an awful groaning noise which put everyone on high alert.

Two seconds later, everyone begins grazing again except Schnitzel. Bless his protective little heart. He kept an eye on things for everyone.

Weezie liked the new house so well that I think she wants to live there.

Wanna adopt Luna? I wish I could get her to stay outside for more then 10 minutes.. We go on walks, and she starts back when she's ready. Running as fast as she can, not looking back.

I love that little store goose, though.. However obnoxious she may be.

Anyways, they look so cute "helping!" I can just imagine them and the big scary noise.. Schnitzel is such a cutie! Is he the one that alerts you of scary bark?

He's the same one. Schnitzel=Mr. Vigilant.

Mine stay outside because they don't have a choice. The back pasture is 3 acres and two fences away from the house. Plus having 10 is different. They show a definite "flock" behavior.

Luna may change as the others grow older and want to spend more time with them.

I just went out to put them up and they were all INSIDE the new coop. It only has partial walls still.

I'm trying to train them to walk up the ramp at night and tonight I got seven to walk in by themselves. Last night eight did it. They are getting better. My hope is that in another week they will all simply put themselves up when I say so. Or I could be dreaming.

I raise the Pilgrims and it is so neat how different geese are from other fowl and poultry. An old timer once told me that when you look into the eyes of a goose it is like looking at another soul. They bond so closely to their owners and you are part of their "flock" too. You will have sooo much fun with them and yes, they grow exceptionally fast!

My sentiments exactly! I'm new to geese and the first thing I noticed about them, opposed to other fowl, is that when they look at you, you are almost looking at another person that cares what you have to say. I would love to know what they are thinking.

So true! There is something about their eyes. There is a calmness and intelligence there that I just haven't experiences with most other poultry.

Yes, I'm completely hooked.
