My Amazing Attic Find- Huge silver platter!!!

Take it for a valuation to Bonhams Auctioneers NY... (I work for them in the UK)... silver is fetching very good prices at the moment.. and what a fantastic find.....

o I have to take it in or would an e-mail be sufficient as i hate finding parking in the city lol

well I got 2 responces saying it was just silver plated. It really does not seem to be, But they would know I am sure. I will take it in someplace to find out. At the worst it will look great on my dining table :Lau
 
The links I gave I think said silver plated too. The hallmarks are almost exact. If it IS Goldfeder they were in business between 1932 to 1956 in Yatesville CT, so it is still an antique. There are two matching pattern tea kettles on Ebay that are bringing a nice little price from an antique dealer. The silver plate is over copper by the way, that's probably the reason for the weight. Just thought you might be interested in those little bits of info.

The 2 kettles are listed for $99 and $125! They BOTH have damage. Both weigh about 4 pounds each. I bet you could get at least $300 for the tray!! Not bad pay to clean the attic
