My babes are under a week......

I'm wondering if there's anything other than the chick starter that I can feed them. Can they have fruits and vegetables at such a young age? They will be a week old on the 17th.....

I would wait until they are older. You can give them scrambled eggs for more vitamins

Definitely they can just provide granite Grit too. Mine love Cucumber? Apple, Romain Lettuce. No need to chop the peck what they need. Banana too.

How about bugs? We found our first woodtick of the season, and my husband thought the chicks could handle it...one of them gulped it down. I was thinking if they were outside with Mama hen, they'd be picking bugs too, so I was thinking it was fine. Not that anyone wants to go out and look for ticks! Does anyone know if chicks would naturally eat bugs at one week? (Ours are just at two weeks).
