They have been outside for a week now. They are officially 11 weeks old today. So far no crowing so that that's very reassuring. They take themselves into the coop at night and back out in the morning with no encouragement from me right around dusk. Wow after reading about that on here I didn't know if they would ever go in but it was no muss no fuss. I will still troll the chick board to see all the cute babies but I guess we have graduated.

It's always satisfying to get them out of the house and into the yard, where they can make all the mess they want

LOL... Funny that is what I thought too....

LOL If I could I would have more! We live in town though and are only allowed two hens...and we have three. I have gone in and out of the farm store 3 times thus far and walked past all the tempting babies. They still had them last week! Even a whole bin of buff orps which was what I wanted when I initially went chick shopping. It was hard not to get one or two. But I made it out. I am already plotting where we can move to when my sons are both graduated from high school in 4 years so I have enough land to have all the pretty chickens my heart desires!

I'm sure you will have more birds. 3 is not enough. I started out with 6, now I have over 100 birds. Chickens are addictive!!! Before you know it you will be hatching.
