I have 6 week olds that were in need of new housing so my cousin helped redo an older coop I fashioned from a bunkbed frame and a packing crate. I will show the old and new versions. The old one I entered in the ugly coop section!
These are two views of the old version. The next several are of the redone version...
Now the birds! Aren't they awesome?! I have 26 (16 hens ordered and 10 roos via packing peanuts.
Here they are in the 4'x8' run under the crate.
I have a ramp and two latches on the door (predators should be stumped!). I know the ramp needs steps...
Here are the babies as babies 3 days old, and the brooder they were in for 4 weeks after two in the cardboard box.
I am hard at work to get the A-Frame coop they will be housed in permanently
The flock has 4 Australorps, 4 Delawares, 4 Easter eggers, and 4 Gold Sex Links. The roos seem to be of a red variety, and most will probably go to freezer camp in a couple of months
