my baby can fly?!?? What the heck!

One of my EE chicks is named George because she is so curious. We have a hinged lid on the top of the brooder to keep them in, as we have 2 cats, but everytime we open it to change water,, feed, bedding etc... she flies up to the top edge and tries to make an escape.

0.o My chicks didn't need anything on the brooder til they were two weeks old. We had a cereal box barrier up and when I saw Comet and Fluffet sitting on it I knew we had to find something to cover the top and fast.
