i have eagerly been waiting for my chicks fron Ideal. i got the call from the post office this morning so i rushed over to pick up my new fluffy butts.
they all arrived in great shape. i ordered 3 blue cochins, 3 silver laced cochins, 3 golden laced cochins, and 3 buff orpingtons. they threw in 7 packing penuts.
thats more than i expected. no idea what they are. they are all white except for one with black spots(i'm wondering if the spots are from him/her being marked by the hatchery. i don't know how to tell if its his/her fuzz color or dye of some sort.) i took some pics of all of them so i thought i would share. sorry the pics aren't the greatest quality. i couldn't find the camera so i used my phone to take pics.
here is the lovely site from when i first opened the box.
wow these guys were loud.
my kitty had to come and see what all the peeping was about. this is her saying "ooooo whats in that box? can i have one of those yummy looking jelly beans that move? ...PRETTY PLEASE???" i just love the look on her face
here they all are once they settled into their brooder. you can see the chick with the black spots. its the one in the center of the 2nd pic eating out of the feeder
and here is a close up of each kind of chick
buff orpington
blue cochin
