I have the sweetest bantam hen Pip Squeak who is about 7 months old. She was fine and her usual self all day, and she lives alone in her own pen. Just like an hour ago I went out to grab her and hold her, she is usually kinda sassy and has lots of energy. And tonight she's being very calm very quiet and not doing much as usual. She also keeps putting her tail feathers and booty up? She just started laying two weeks ago but it's now been four days since I've gotten an egg. She looks okay, but isn't acting right at all. Just wants to lay here. I'm already having a terrible day and now I'm worried. Please help. I have her inside on my lap rn it's night where I live. I even took her out to take her usual dust bath and she didn't really take one.

Some hens don't lay regularly till 10-12 months old and it takes a lot of protein and calcium and calories out of her when she lays eggs, just in case feel her lower stomachs softly for eggs then if you feel any eggs she could be blocked up but it'll be ok, just give her a hand full of whole corn or oats and water she should be ok

How will I know if I can feel an egg and where should I feel for it?

She is kind of pale but she looks fine too me, is her breathing unsteady? Or labored?
Like 45 min ago she was breathing almost like panting even though she's inside the cool house. Rn she's asleep on my lap so she seems like she's just breathing the way they do when they sleep

You could get a bin and put a bunch of hay and get the waterer and feeder in there and let her get over whatever she's going through separated from any chickens/ dogs. Or whatever is stressing outside? Just so she's calmed and comfortable but totally up to u.
