My baby turkey cant peep!!!

I have gotten a baby broad brested bronze from a guy I bought some full grown royal palms from. He let us have this turkey to try to nurse it kinda. For some reason the turkey cant make any noise at all. It trys to but all you can hear is the air coming from it. I have never seen anything like this and I was wondering if someone can help us out on this.

I have to say that after raising a batch of poults, I actually envy you your silent bird. Mine peeped incessantly and many times I wanted to throttle them all.

A silent turkey poult is a blessing .None of the Peep peep peep stuff.
As for the silence...Could be anything or alot of things.
Maybe a birthdefect, tumor sitting on vocal cords. Maybe he was born without vocal cords.
Not sure but I would love for mine to shut up and just be a good little turkey for once.

Sounds like it was born with multiple birth defects.
