10 days old now. Not sure if its possible to tell from wing feathers at this stage,I couldn't get a decent picture at a day old.
Isn't he cute...the mommy is very happy to let my kids pick up baby but any other person gets pecked and shouted at if they get too close

still a bit early to tell the gender of this black tailed white japanese. It is only up to 4 days old for feather sexing and I think it is only for certain breeds.

To young still. Post pics at around 6 weeks. Feather/wing sexing only works with specifically bred hybrids and only at 1 day old. It won't work 99% of chickens breeds.

I thought 10 days might be too late but it was worth a try.
No idea what breed it will be

I'm thinking cockerel. It is my understanding that hens have two distinct rows of feathers on fast feathering breeds. As yours is a bantam, it may or may not be a mix with fast feathering breeds so you may need to send pictures again in a month ;p I located an image online that shows what I'm trying to say about the distinctive rows of feathers on chicks that are of a fast feathering breed so will link that image. I'm nowhere near 'expert' in the subject, but happy to share what little I've learned along the way. My vote is cockerel, but all bets are off if it's not a 'fast' featherer :p
