My Bantam Delawares

Well, I don't care if I sold it without question, but those particular birds were GIVEN away with stipulations... the ____ just lied to pass the test, so to speak. THAT is the part that POed me more than anything. She makes a income by lying to people to get their animals given to her as pets, then turns and sells them immediately so she don't even have to feed them much (or at all for all we know).

Now, these bantam Dels... I can't imagine anyone buying them and eatting them... they are tiny. I can't imagine anyone using them as trainers for fights. I would think you either breed them to other bantam Dels or maybe try them against a bantam NH (you might get bantam sex-links if it works the same as standards)... or just keep them because they are freakin cute. So, I'm not worried.

I still try to find decent people when selling standards. I'm not over protective but there is a HUGE problem here with fights (we can't talk too much about it or we'll get in trouble with the Mods) and non-game breeds are used as bait or trainers for game cocks to practice on. I don't want that for ANY bird, mine or anyone elses.... but the ones I'm selling are the only ones I have any control over ... by trying to avoid those buyers.

But to answer your question more directly, yes, I really want (need) to get rid of 6 Bantam Delaware roos.

Well, I wish you much luck in selling them. I understand the problems that come with too many roosters all too well. I know one thing for sure .... there ain't nobody in this neck of the woods that would pay over $5. for any rooster! Like I said, I usually give mine away.... (lots of them!)

You would have to have Delaware HENS with a NHR or any Red roo to make sexlinks, Dela roos wont give sexlinks.

Opps I always get that one backwards. You can tell I'm not too interested in making sex-links. I figure I do that to sell them I'll get left with only roosters. Duh, bad buisness for small flock breeders. You should try to move ALL the chicks, not just half. lol.

I always think it's Del roo to NH hen... Next time I'll just take what I am thinking is right and make it backwards. lol.

I just fell in love with my Delaware and now you say they come in bantam sizes too???

Whoops, sorry for hi-jacking the thread. I just had to blurt that out.

Hope you get homes for your midget Delaware roos - I am trying to find a home for one of my midget Silver Sebright roos! AND a midget Buff Brahma! *sigh*

Yes they do! And they are just as cute! Even cuter!!! I love my Dels the best, and these bantams are just so funny to look at once you are used to the mongo Dels.

I'm sure they will sell out. To see them in person.... no one could resist. They are just slighty bigger than a sebright. VERY small... not like bantam Barnevelders... they are small but not tiny. These are SO CUTE. I may keep two roos, but not 3 or more.

HAHA Yep I'm not into making the sexlinks either. I did make Black Sexlinks to sell one time and I priced them at like $2.00 each for pullets or $10 for 4 roos and 6 pullets. But you still end up with roos. If I were goint to sell sexlinks I would just grow them off and sell the roosters to a few of my hispanic customers at fryer size and easily sell the pullets at the livestock sale.

I'd pay $30 for a pair of them- if I was in the market, that is. You really don't see them too often, and yours are really pretty. I've found that selling in pairs is the only way to make a couple bucks with my roos- and they are nice wellies & ameraucanas. I wish I was going- I'd like to see them in person!

HappyMtn...

It works out for you anyways, right now I don't have enough pullets to spare for duos... maybe one or two (and that would kill me to let my girls go). I will have more and more as time passes, though. You can always PM me whenever you want to see if I have some.
