My Bantam hen acts like shes trying to poop all the time, but laid a soft shell egg. She wouldnt go in her coop, she laid the egg in the yard, at night. I noticed what looks like the tip of an egg or flesh from her bottom. Please excuse My ignorance of proper terminology.

I don't have anything really useful to tell you other than there is a condition called eggbinding or eggbound where the egg can get stuck and some give a warm bath soak to help the egg come out.

If the egg breaks inside the hen it can cause egg yolk peritonitis.
