My bantam rooster attacked a hawk!

Good thing he couldnt get to the hawk, not sure he would have won the fight. Rooster sure can be brave when it comes to their hens.

Had one of my gamecock attack a dog after his hens, sad part the stray dog won..

Large brave roosters can sometimes run off small hawks(cooper size)

I watched my bantam fight a hawk to way way in the sky until i couldnt see them anymore i still like to think he won the fight but got lost on the way down pore guy never flew that high before.

It was a red tail. There's a pair that nest in the woods behind our house every year. They have brought their young into our yard to teach them to hunt squirrels (we have a lot of them too). The young aren't always successful with the squirrels. I've actually seen a squirrel back a young hawk off. He was just lucky that time. They've also played by chasing each other round and round the pine trees. One of them actually perched on our deck railing once. They're the reason I've never let the chickens out to free range in our yard. I'm just glad that the run is covered. That was done to keep the bantams inside since they're such enthusiastic flyers.
