Two days ago I found my hen’s foot stuck on the slits of a plastic chair (it’s my fault I left it there so sit and watch them) it skinned her whole leg, she was putting alittle weight on it but now she doesn’t and it’s swollen and purple

I been putting manuka honey and silver cream on it but the inflammation hasn’t gone down and she doesn’t want to eat. I made her rice, apple and soldier worm mixture but she still wasn’t interested.

Any advice?? What could I give her for pain? Should I force feed her cat food? Should I ice her leg??

Soak the leg each day for around fifteen to twenty minutes in warm Epsom salts. You can add a wound disinfectant to the water to help with any infection. This will increase blood flow and encourage healing.

You can give her one chewable aspirin two times a day for pain.

She may also be suffering from shock from this accident. Shock, left untreated, can last for weeks after an accident, and it can cause organ malfunction. Treat her with one cup of water with one teaspoon of sugar and a pinch of non-iodized salt and baking soda as her only water for the next 48 hours.

I would offer some soaked chicken feed with water and scrambled egg bits as well, rather than rice and apple. It can take a couple of days for the swelling that has happened to start going down. You can make a temporary chicken sling chair for her to get her upright to help with eating. Take her out for sleeping and rest. Here is a link for slings and the first 2 pages have the basic design and examples:
