My beautiful buff orpington hen has turned into a rooster!

We adopted 3 female pullets in September and we have been anxiously awaiting the day that they started to lay eggs. Today we were surprised by a rooster crowing in our backyard! Our family is heartbroken because we love these chickens but we cannot keep a rooster in the backyard of our Clairemont home. Any ideas how we can find, "Edwina" now "Edwin", a good home where he won't be eaten.

Sorry about this happens all the time unfortunately.

You could try advertising him online and just be very picky about where he goes. You could take him to a poultry swap if you have those where you live. Or if there is a thread for your area on here you could see if any fellow BYCers are I interested.
