Jacie, that is so beautiful, I am crying again, but I love it. Thank you so much.
And thank you everyone for the kind words.
I can honestly say this is the only place I can openly cry over the loss of a wonderful bird and not feel misunderstood or crazy. It has been quiet an emotional morning, and week, for that matter. The only good thing I feel, is that she is no longer suffering and has gone to chicken heaven. I've had chickens for 6 years now and every loss is hard, but I don't recall it ever being this hard, there are just some birds that hold your heart tighter then others. It does make it a little easier to have people who can understand that our chickens are just another livestock but a part of our family and it is just like losing a family member when one dies.
Quote: Hey! You should have seen me 2 months ago when I lost my gold fish Frick (Frack went years ago) Frick was 14 years old!!! and believe it or not was so gentle and tame you could pet him, (he was hugh!) and also was my Siamese's best friend. They slept together at the corner of the tank!! He is still looking for him!
So yes I totally understand. As I think most of us do. Have a good cry and find another to make your "special" one.
