5 days ago I noticed 1 of my Black Copper Marans with an eye shut and a goopy nose. I checked everyone else and found an Ameracauna with goopy eyes. Brought them both inside and started treating with Tylan 0.25 cc and cleaned their noses with VetRX. They are approx 3 mon old. I also used Erythromycin eye ointment on the BCM because her eye seemed glued shut and the orbital area swollen. Yesterday I noticed 1 of my 6 wk old turkey poults with labored breathing with mouth open, sneezing, coughing and expiratory wheezing. Brought it in and started Tylan 0.5 cc and VetRX. This AM, I had 2 more chicks, 1 of each kind, with runny noses. Again, in the house, started Tylan 0.25 cc and VetRX. About an hr ago, I came home after being away a few hrs and now have a Silver Laced Wyandotte, approx 9 mon old with a runny nose and a BCM with a runny nose, and what looks like white crust at the base of her feathers on her neck. They both got VetRX and Tylan and I dusted the BCM with DE because I suspect mite eggs. I saw no mites or other signs of mites on anyone else. She also looks mangy. I also suspect all of them have lost some weight. Of the 1st 2, the Ameracauna looks great, eating, perky, eyes, nose clear. After his last dose of Tylan tonight, I will probably put him back with the flock tonight or tomorrow nite. The weather here has been very hot, in the 90's with very high humidity for well over a week, maybe 2. I always put ACV in their water. I have been putting electrolytes about every other day. I have milk jugs of ice around the pen and a fan on in the coop. 3 or 4 wks ago, I completely cleaned and disinfected the coop after I dispatched a chick with probable Marens disease. And I think it was probably a week before I treated the flock for coccosidiosis with Corid, then several days of Vitamins. Obviously I have something else going on here with the respiratory symptoms. Any ideas, input appreciated. I am wondering if I should just treat symptomatic birds as they show up( my "hospital is getting full) or treat the whole flock prophlactically. If so, what should I use? I have 26 chickens, 5 turkeys and a peacock. HELP!!!
