My bird hyperfixation is expanding (meet my budgies!)

I semi-impulse bought some house birds since our quail *deeply* do not care if we ever pay them attention beyond feeding

This was tonight, they’ve been here 3 days so I’d say it’s going pretty alright! They did not come to me hand tamed so I’m paying them in “molting blend” seed mix for their trust.

Meet Chaos (blue) and Mayhem

Chaos, buy my best googling efforts is a yellow face (possibly type 2, they have some bleeding of the yellow into their tail, back, and belly) Opaline… possibly with a violet or dark factor? I hear Opaline are usually female, can anyone wager a guess on Chaos? They are generally reserved, but a bigger singer than Mayhem.

Mayhem is… a grey-green, double factor (though she’s pretty dang close to 50/50) clear-wing pied who is, I am fairly certain female? They’re both around 3 months so it’s hard to tell yet. She’s super outgoing and the first to step up for treats.

We’re quite enjoying them so far! So much personality in such a tiny birb!

They’ve been so fun! We almost got taken in by a pair of Conures who were very flirty, but I’m really attached to the idea of teaching these lil guys to talk and budgies do that better

It looks like they've already started to build trust with you.

They both look male to me.

I used to have budgies. Mine never ended up talking, though, because I wasn't aware at the time that they could learn how. They are very fun birds!
