My BLRW is hurt really bad!!!!! Please look!!

Poor boy! I would say the above info is great. In addition, I would try to separate him to prevent picking from other birds, and to monitor that his litter is as clean as possible. Isolation should also help you make sure that he is eating, drinking, and pooping normally. If you cannot isolate him, or if he is pecking at himself, I would recommend using Blue Koyte or pine tar to prevent picking. I have also tried Vet Wrap (preferably in a color like black), but if your birds are sneaky, they an get it off. In that case, I have used black athletic tape wrapped over the Vet Wrap. I have used terramycin ointment (which is actually for the eye...) as well as regular neosporin for wounds in the past.

It seems like you're doing everything right. Just keep the area clean, and with some sort of antibiotic on it. If it doesn't improve, or gets worse, I'd get him on oral or injectable antibiotics.

GOOD LUCK!

Thanks again for helping me!!

he might need a stronger antibiotic if the one he's on isn't helping.... he might be fighting a really bad infection.... Is he eating? you may have to up his protein level as an energy boost put him on a good vitamin, or tube feed him. Poor guy.....

Are there any aviary veterinarians in your area? I'd get him there ASAP. He really needs Subcutaneous fluids and a stronger antibiotic. That wound is definitely dying tissue and if you wait much longer, he will lose that wing. Gangrene spreads quickly and with a vengeance. That wound looks like an abscess, bone injury or tumor. Its large and its killing the skin around it. This is the time when a vet is necessary.

Best of luck!
