my blue chick

Is now showing some carmel colored feathers coming in on his/her wings.And maybe a few coming through on the neck area.I think she is a pullet.I had a big white leghornxcochin roo whose mother was a blue cochin hen so I think the blue came from her.NOt sure who he bred to that has produced this chick.I no longer have the roo,sold him,but this chick is sure turning out very pretty I wish it was a roo.

How old is your chick? I know my blues get a little brassy when they are sun-bleached...

Maybe you made a variation blue partridge. It takes 2 generations to show up- but instead of the partridge penciling- you're getting "blue bleeding buff". Lets see some picts! I love anything with blue invovled.

I thhink that is more like it a blue bleeding buff.I know what you mean about the brassy color from the sun that is not it.I think the chick is about 1.5m maybe

If they are coming in on the shoulders, the bird is probably male.

Kind of like this? This guy started out all blue and then suddenly this buff/birchen color showed up on his chest and there are red feathers coming in on his shoulders.

mine is light blue lavender and the feathers are very buff color yes on the wings and now in the neck area I hope it is a male
