My blue egg layer laid a white egg today, is that OK?

If the eggs are blue because bile is mixed into the shell material - is something wrong if she suddenly starts laying white eggs instead?

So, it's basically normal for Easter Eggers or whatever breed you have to lay white eggs occasionally, but if she displays any abnormal behavior, there may be a problem.

No it’s not. A chicken can not lay a brown egg one day and then lay a green egg the next day. The eggs can vary in shade of color.

Are you sure of which chicken laid the white egg? Also shade could vary, are you sure it's not very very very pale blue?

Eggs are either white or blue to begin with and then may have some level of brown laid on top creating either a brown egg or green egg, so a brown egg layer could skip the final coating and lay a white egg and a green layer could skip the brown coating and lay a blue egg, but a blue layer can't lay white and a white layer can't lay blue (different genetics).

Sometimes we get a random odd egg, generally if things return to normal, it's nothing to worry about, but if it's repeated several times it could be indicative of a problem.
