Wanted to update that I was going to replace Hannah Montana with Spiderman, but when I took Hannah off, maybe 40 hours after placing first boot, the foot was very solidly straight, bot of the toes in question.
I left her without a boot for several hours and decided it was for real this time!
Yay for band-aid boots!! I think the earlier you boot them, the better- she'd only been out of the shell for a day or so.
