This is allegedly a true story.
One of the owners of the place where I work (they are brothers) has a story about how when he was s kid, his parents thought there was something wrong with him.
He had several counselling sessions and in the final one, the therapist asked him this question:
Therapist: "You and two others are stranded on an island. It has only one palm tree and a few coconuts, hanging from it. There is a rotten sailboat with no sails and a broken bottom. How do you get off the island?"
Anthony: "I go down to the dock, hop on the fiberglass speedboat, turn on the engine to warm it up while I cast off the bow and stern lines and the three of us drive to port and are saved."
Therapist: "Where did you get the speedboat from?"
Anthony: "Same place you got the island and the palm tree."
The therapist told his parents "He'll be fine. He just thinks of things differently than other people." I like that kind of can-do attitude. That's exaclty why I like books like "Battlefield Earth" and "Sahara" and movies like "Wag the Dog".
"This? This is nothing!" Those are words to live by!!!!!
