Hey, it isn't so wierd!

I carried several eggs around in my cleavage for the full 21 DAYS earlier this spring!!

Started with 6 eggs, by the second week, it dropped to 3, and all 3 hatched just fine.

If they are being carried "that way", your normal movements are enough to keep the chick from sticking to the shell. I usually only turned once a day while changing clothing.

People have probably wised up about asking to "see the incubator".... That is what killed multiple threads when I was broody, which was too bad, but this is a family environment, and some of the quips and quotes were a little racy.

2 of my hatchlings were eaten by a cat, but the third girl is the most georgous silkie/serama cross hen! She is pure white, serama shaped and cochin feathered, without all of the fluffyness. She is by far the softest and sweetest little hen in our flock. The eggs were donated by Chickenaddict, who has the most wonderfully spoiled birds. Love ya, Rachel!

I did have a blog about the whole experience. If you click on the link in my info box, you should still be able to read it.

Cheers!

Katie

Here is the picture you have all been waiting for. I hope it works!

I only had this egg on my body for 24 hours... I dont think I could do it for much longer than that. I have 4 little kids, one of them is still nursing, there was a little competition for the space!!!

I kept the eggs on me round the clock. I slept on the recliner so that I wouldn't roll over and smoosh them. When I showered, I took them out and placed them in a washcloth on the vanity. It was quite an adventure, but we made it through. My son, 11 at the time, thought it was the funniest thing ever.

You nursed a baby and incubated and egg at the same time?!!! That is just amazing!!!! You are a good chicken moma!! LOL I am SO glad it hatched out and he is the cutest little thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing your story with us! I loved it!
