Ok, so what I have decided to do based on the information provided is to only put lamps (2) on one half 2'x4' and none in the second half. I will put food and water in the non-lighted area and see what these little fuzzy butts do....

Many on here find, as I did, they wanted markedly cooler temps than recommended, like 10 degrees cooler. Also, remember that simply adding the chicks will raise the temp, especially after a few hours. My broody raised chicks have been outdoors all day since a few days old; they much prefer pecking and scratching to getting warm under mama, other than at night. I suspect your chicks will be very happy.
