My broody hen and her chicks

My hen just hatched 3 babies on Sunday 3/27. i live in Northern New Jersey so its still a bit chilly during the day. Right now they are in a smaller chicken coop thats dimly lit and draft free, i was wondering when it would be safe to let them roam in the outside pen. the temp today is about 40F but its not always that warm. Thanks

I have a hen that just hatched 7 on the 26th and its been cold and rainy here too -upper 30's and low 40's. She and her brood are in the coop with the rest of the flock and they can go in and out into the yard anytime they want. Mother hen has not taken them out yet and I expect she will when she feels the time is right. I would just keep the door open and let her decide when to take them out, she knows what she is doing.
