My broody hen has been sitting for 27 days.

I have not had a broody hen or hatch before. At 27 days I'm afraid something has gone wrong. What should I do?

If you want chicks, you should go and buy some and slip them beneath her at night and toss her eggs. If she has been setting for 27 days, those eggs are not viable.

If all eggs were set 27 days ago than carefully get rid of them, and break the hen from her broodiness by penning her away from her chosen nest site for 5-7 days. Preferably in a wire bottom crate.
