My broody hen is not leaving the nest

ok, here is what you do. walk in, pick her up off the nest, throw her out in the yard, then YOU sit on the eggs til she is ready to come back.

no body knows what she needs better than SHE does. she will eat, drink, and poo when she is good and ready. sounds like she is taking her job seriously which is a good thing....

my aunt marlene used to offer her broodys treats while they were on the nest. things like grapes, rolled oats, unsalted sunflower seeds (no shells!), peas... i don't know if you're supposed to do that, but she claimed that it encouraged her broodys to go broody once more o.o

i think offering her nice treats is a good idea. that is, if everyone else thinks so as well?

I have given her a couple of offering of meal worms (her favorite treat) and she has cleaned the bowl! I also sit and talk to her for a while a few times a day. I found another poo bomb in the the pen yesterday so she must be getting off the nest sometime while Im at work. So far all seems good. I will continue putting treats in the box with her. Im hoping after our experience with this together, she will not be so scared of me. I want to be able to get close to the babies.
