My broody kicked out eggs... Updated

just wait. If the broody doesn't mind, you can write the time and date of pipping so you can know how long it has been trying, if you are worried it won't hatch on its own.

So one hatched.

But unfortunately it's a boy.

I live in city limits and there's no way that I can keep a rooster. I really wish that I could but I can't. Then I had another one pip and it died.

I am so bummed by the whole thing. So the other two eggs under her have done nothing at all. How long should I wait and is there any way to intervene if there's no pipping.

The saddest part is that I can't keep my first baby chick. I can't bring myself to cull it so I'm going to work very hard to find it a home. Let me know what you think about the other two.

wait two more days. Getting cooled off could have slowed them down without killing them. I have had hatches stretch over three days, for chilling reasons. Plus I add eggs a day or two later.

I've never posted pictures before so I hope this works. I wanted to make sure that this is a boy before I freak out to much so let me know what you think.

I guess it didn't quite work but you can still see the picture from the link I think. If not let me know and I will work a little harder.

Edited to say that I asked this question on the raising chicks thread and they say it's a pullet. I'm so excited!!!!
