Hello All -
I've had my buff orpingtons since March. They started laying a couple months ago - and egg production was great. I have 14 hens and one rooster. Now, for the past few weeks, egg production has come to a standstill. We are only getting 2-3 eggs per day. The chickens are being fed organic laying pellets, as well as cracked corn daily. They all appear to be very healthy, and do not act as if they are sick. I'm just concerned as to why they aren't laying more eggs. We started out with 10-12 per day, but now its 2-3. Does anyone have any suggestions?
We live in southeast Alabama - and they temperature here has been averaging somewhere in the 80s to 90s. Thanks, in advance, for the input.
