My Button Quails & Coturnix Quails****PICS****

I only just recently got a Coturnix and three button quail. One of the buttons excaped and one passed away so I have just the one button. The button is definatly a lot more active than the Coturnix who is laid back. It took the button almost a week before he'd eat a mealworm from my hand where the Coturnix ate right away. Now they both see me coming with the container and wait at the door for thier "treats".
This is "Happy Quail" and she's a hen. Laid her first egg this week!

Turns out both my hens sat on their nine eggs and they all hatched!

Suddenly overrun with BQ.

The colors of the babies were stunning- from silver, silver pearl, cinnamon to golden pearl, blue faced and not. I sold off all but two, a cinnamon pearl hen and a gorgeous blue faced normal male. I hope they will pair up- time will tell.

Cheers, Jayne

I just took my shoe box and made 2 nest boxes out of it.. i cut 2 holes both on the same side but space apart and i took a piece of thin wood i had cut and slid it down the middle to make 2 nest boxes in one and it works great the hens lay in both
