I dont tell people it will work for them, only it has worked for me. I dont plan on getting adult stock, only chicks and eggs.

From parent stock that are carriers...

If this is such a serious disease why hasnt it come up? I know people wo have raised quail with chickens for years and never had problems, like I said before, it may not work for you but it does for me.

It comes up all over this forum. It has since I have joined the site. I look forward to gettign updates on these particular birds over the course of this coming season.. see how long they make it..

Sorry for the negative tone, but it is true! You must be young, because most folks that have been around a while would listen to the advice from people that are sucessful in their fields..

Do they look unhealthy to you? They sure dont to me, they are perfectly fine and are actually quite tame.

I haven't seen 'so many' deaths and infections being reported, actually I've only seen one thread that had reports of quail having coryza.

A little while back a friend of mine over in Indiana ordered Coturnix quail eggs from somewhere off the internet, and incubated them. He had a lone chick hatch out at the same time they did. He brooded them together because he thought the chicken chick would "get lonely". Long story short he didn't listen to me about the bad stuff chickens have and he had a big healthy chick and a bunch of dead quail in about two months. You can only educate folks so far!

So in the second last pic the one on the left is a golden pearl, the middle one is a slate and the one on the right is a cinnamon blueface? Thanks! What about sexes?

Yes, left is a GP male, right is a CB female, and I believe the slate is a female as well.

Beautiful birds!

Other than the chicken that I worry about smushing the birds, I don't see a problem. The birds look healthy, and the photos are exquisite. I am sorry that people are being so harsh when only you asked what color are the birds.

I guess I am talking over the span of the past ten years or so.. I have heard quite a bit about it! The old guys that have had their birds forever consider it bible not to mix the species, even though they may not have known exaclty why ten years ago.. People need to catch on, it is 2011 for heaven's sake!

Since the topic of disease transmission has been beat to death on this forum (and with this OP specifically) I think those of you that have no helpful information relating to the OP's request should just move along....
