Hi everyone,
Ok I am not sure why but I had a long hard time getting the web page here just how I wanted it. I have a family blog and I use a lot of printing sites and programs, yet took me two days.....LOl.
And I normally use mozilla, now I remember why, explorer just HAD to shut down three times, so I tried to remember to save every few pictures.

My coop page is very picture heavy, so if you like pictures and have a fast connection great..... if not sorry, it will take forever to load, but I do have a post in this area with the post subject of " new coop is here"

Looks picture perfect!! Thanks for sharing!

Great pix, and nice narrative. I notice your run is not covered with fencing. Don't you have to worry about predators? I am about to build a large coop and a large run - and I am told I need to worry about hawks and fisher cats. Fisher cats climb anything and would get into an open run, and of course hawks would fly right in. What about where you are? No worries?

That is just beautiful!!! We are currently building a coop and I love looking at all these. I love the box mounted on the wall for storage! great idea!!!!!
The bulldog is adorable too !

Thank You every one, I researched and researched and then drew the plans in detail so that every thing would look like I wanted. We hired 2 guys as a side job for them, one got 15 and one got 20 per hour. Total cost for wood was about a thousand dollars and labor was total of about of 500 dollars. But I live in an area that not having upset complaining neighbors is a must.

PJ... No I don't worry about animals getting in, I live in the "thumb" of Michigan along Lake Huron, There are raccoons and possums in the area, and some skunks too, but our yard has a 6 foot privacy fence along the property lines and then the chicken and dog area has a 51/2 foot fence, though the gates are lower on that fence system, Also we had for years a big German Sheppard, and a female Bulldog and though they passed away this year we still have our male Bulldog. They had free range to the whole yard and I have not seen any animals in our yard in about 7 years. And Iz still has access to most of the yard. There are a lot of areas for coverage for the hens during the day, small pine trees and bushes and big and small trees in and around the chicken yard that would hinder the hawks. My hens last year free ranged the whole yard with no problem. But the most important thing is every single night they are locked into the coop and the coop is secure. Other than hawks most predators come at night.

The chicken yard is to big to cover, and that's important to me, that the chickens have lots of roaming room. Also I live in a resort type area, I am counting on no one complaining and tying to make me get rid of the chickens. I think it helps that everything looks nice. My "trash Heap" coop was out of sight between a 6' privacy fence and the garage. If I had a big mess of netting or wire over every thing the summer people would 1. want to see what is in the yard, and the less attention the better. and 2. would find it offensive. People in this area complain about the view of the lake being blocked, they are tolerant of the few of us who live here year round because we look after their property during the winter.

We also have motion lights, maybe 6 in the middle yard and about 12 maybe more in the rest of the yard. Any one or any animal that comes into the yard turns on lights every step of the way. There are 16 solar lights along the path ways that are on all night too. I keep my curtains open and the light wakes me up when our dog goes out side so I think any animals would be taken care of right away.

So my fence around the chicken yard is really to keep chickens in and out of my gardens.

Wow what a beautiful coop and area you have for your babies!! They are sure spoiled rotten with their living quarters...LOL.
