My carelessness killed Hannah

I'm so sorry! I know the pain of losing a beloved chicken, especially old and well-loved ones. It brings tears to my eyes. Of course, I'm also listening to a sad song...

We once had a beautiful, sweet little Silver Sebright hen named Silver. She was so wonderful and a joy to have, although she wasn't really tame. After a single night of being locked out, she was gone.

I'm so sorry. Like Dino said, keep following the feather trail. Maybe you (and she) will get lucky.

We've all made mistakes. Just about a month ago, our auto pop-door did not close because of dust and bugs, and something got into our fenced in run, into the coop at night, and took our BO, Luna....from the nest. She was a little over 3 years old and was a first-time broody. We felt sooooo soooo bad and very guilty. But we got too comfortable and learned a really hard lesson. Now we clean out the tracks, and check that pop-door every night.

I'll keep hoping that you find her.
