I think that is a baby Turkey, from the look of the head. If so, you need to find out
for sure because baby turkey's need a higher protein feed than chickens.

It might be a mixed breed chicken, but it is not a turkey. It doesn't look like a naked neck to me either, but it is hard to tell after it's plucking. It is a chicken, but I don't know what breed. My cat that looks just like yours in your picture, brings me purple martins, he catches, but unharmed and I have to wait till he's not looking to release them, so he doesn't get his feelings hurt and start eating them or something! LOL Boy do those purple martin claws hurt when they latch onto your fingers!!!

I thought for sure that was a western state turkey too.. I dont recognise the chicken breed that has a head like that...but time will tell....im sure there is probably a chicken breed with black barring over brown, but I dont know because I have never seen a breed that is this color..
