My cat confuses me..she thinks shes a chicken

I have decided that my cat thinks she is a chicken..she loves spending time in the coop...she has been aound my ten week old chicks since they were born and has never tried to scratch or eat one..today i saw her catch a bird that flew into my coop and she killed and ate it...how does she tell the difference between a chick and a bird?

Cats know the difference between wild animals and tame ones. When I was growing up we had two cats and several rabbits. A couple of the rabbits were house trained and the cats were indoor/outdoor. When we brought the rabbits in we didn't have to worry about the cats bugging them even though they hunted wild rabbits.

I have 5 cats, all but one knows that if I hold something and take care of it, it's mine, and they don't touch it. One of mine has a little brain damage and she will attack just because.
